also better quality the Integy fan lasted all of 2 runs.) *Integy motor heat sink with a dual ball bearing fan installed (larger than the Integy fan that comes with the mount. has about 25-30 runs on it, never been overheated and has only ever been ran on 2s lipos, never seen 3s or even a NiMh pack) *Traxxas Velineon system (I purchased this brand new when I got the truck. it's been reinforced with gorilla tape and aluminum tape at the mounting holes and on the sides) shows the normal wear, but no cracks and is in pretty good shape. *Raptor 2wd Traxxas brand body (has about 7 or 8 runs on it. It's build to the point now that's it's almost bulletproof.
A few months ago I completely went through the truck and replaced all of the bearings, replaced the front and rear bulk head assemblies, installed new shock towers and body mounts, replaced the tie rods and steering linkage, replace the center drive shaft, and installed a bunch of other upgrades. Literally everything else has been replaced. It started as a used roller (that was my first mistake), and about the only thing left on it now that was on it when I got it is the died chassis and the diff gears. This truck has been a huge learning curve for me, both with the truck specifically, and with RC's in general. I'd much rather see somebody else enjoy this awesome truck. Always check your car over before and after a run, as nuts and bolts can (and often do) work their way loose.I've had a ton of fun with this truck, but now it's been spending most of it's days sitting on the shelf now collecting dust as I've moved onto other RCs and other projects, and I hate to see the truck neglected like it is. If you run Nitro then after run oil is a good investment, especially if you intend not to run the engine again soon, and a Hauler Case or Bag is also a good investment making transporting your car and tools around a much easier proposition. These are the basics needed to keep a vehicle well maintained, clean and ready for it's next run. Put together a basic tool kit that includes a stiff brush to clean off dirt and debris after a run, Blue Thread Lock, a set of quality Hex Drivers, a Box Wrench, Side Cutters, Needle Nosed and Flat Ended Pliers, Flat Blade and Cross Headed Screwdrivers, Thin and (if Possible) flexible Cyano (or Super Glue) for re gluing tyres, Diff Grease, Shock Oil, Bearing Oil and a Water Displacing Spray (Such as WD40 or GT85). RC Car Maintenance It's one thing to buy and run your RC Car, but don't neglect it, or regular, routine maintenance. Hop Ups may often not look as refined or be branded like manufacturer Upgrades, but they often offer a more Cost Effective and Robust solution to the part, or parts they replace. Hop Ups tend to be made by Third Party Manufacturers, who specialise in producing a wide range of Hop Ups across a specific genre of RC, and multiple brands. Just like Upgrades they enhance Durability, Looks or Performance. Most Upgrades are a much higher price than their stock replacement Parts, but in terms of Performance, Looks or Durability, well worth the premium. Adding Bearings to replace Bushes reduces Friction. Replacing plastic components for Alloy versions increases Durability and reduces Flex. These Upgrades offer either a Performance Enhancement, Increased Durability or simply an Enhanced Aesthetic. Most manufacturers also make Option Parts or Upgrades. Stronger, Better, Faster But there are other options too.
